Overview

On 1/3/2010, on Kim's and my first date anniversary, we bought a 1967 Aristocrat Land Liner. A 20 foot tandem axle travel trailer. As you may have been able to tell by other pages on this site, we like to name our vehicles/toys. Kim named this one Annie since we got it on our first date anniversary. Perfect!

We were down in Sumner, WA looking at another camper from a craigslist ad but the deal fell through and on the way back I spotted this cool, and a bit funky, trailer off the side of highway in a small lot. So we decided to check it out and hit the next exit. It was in a small RV lot called Liberty RV Center. Very friendly staff. Price was good especially after asking to lower the price a couple hundred dollars. Ended up getting it for less than $1500 including taxes and licensing!

Purchased Condition

Considering its more than 40 years old, the entire trailer is in very good shape! I've not been able to fully inspect it yet, but so far very little work outside of a good cleaning and basic maintenance needs to be done.

Interior

The interior is in very good shape and almost entirely original. We plan to keep it that way with only minor cosmetic changes like painting some of the snot green appliances and trim to a color that suits us better (did people really like this color at one time?!?!).

The original flooring is there but has been recently covered with carpet. All the cushions are original and in great shape, just need cleaning. All appliances are the original ones and as of 1/11/2010 I've only been able to test the oven, burners, furnace and the AC side of the refrigerator. Refrigerator doesn't work on AC, the others work great. Still need to check water heater, pressurized water system (toilet, shower, bathroom and kitchen sinks).

Sitting in the sink when I purchased it was a new Shurflo water pump (in case I want to convert to non-pressurized system I guess), and new air pump for the current water system and an extra new glass light bulb cover for one of the fixtures. Also, the toilet is not the original and a new one was put in very recently.

Exterior

All the marking lights except the two tail lights are original and I think very cool with a tear drop shape. The tail lights had been upgraded to large and bright LED tail lights so they still have a retroish look, but modern brightness and maintenance free. Rest of exterior is all original and basically needs a good detailing and some paint touch up (we plan to paint the gold accents deep red with black pin-striping). There is one small hole in the front sheet-metal I will need to cover, looks like a truck bumper maybe hit it while turning to sharp or something.

There are however a few small recent leaks in the roof seams I will need to repair asap. Very little damage is viewable from inside and structurally all walls, ceiling and floor are very solid, no soft spots.

Trailer

The frame is in great shape with no abnormal amounts of rust. Most the exposed frame like the rear bumper and tongue portion still have most the factory paint left. All 4 tires were replaced very recently. Two new propane tanks were added as well shortly before purchase. Also new was the entire towing wiring harness and cable.

Manuals/Documents

Inside was a packet full of the original documents that came with the camper when it was new. I didn't know about them at first and tried to find manuals for all the appliances on the internet and couldn't find all of them and many of the ones I did find were so low resolution I couldn't read them very well if at all. So I scanned every document I found in the camper and have provided them below in case it will help anyone else.
