This is a fun part for me, putting together the canopy! |

This is a good sized 12x12 foot gazebo that we got from Fred Meyers. In fact, this is what got us thinking about doing the patio in the first place. We saw it a few times while at the store and really liked it, but it was $500. Then one day we saw it for like $200 and thought wow, thats a good price, and went back two days later and they were out of stock, even the floor model was sold! The manager couldn't find any more, everyone was sold out.
So Kim got on the phone and started calling Fred Meyers stores one by one until she found one about 30 minutes away that had several. We drove down with the trailer and couldn't find them in the store anywhere, not even a place for them. Talked to the manager and they found them, out in a cargo container in the parking lot! So thats why this one store had some while everyone else was out! So we lucked out and took it home where it sat in my shop for months until this find end of summer day. |

Patio is cleared off and ready for the gazebo to be built. |
From the front of the house. Someone needs to get the lawn mower out!!! :) |
 First layer of parts... |
2nd layer of parts. I must say it was pretty well packed. |
 3rd layer of parts. |
4th layer of parts. There were 3 more layers of the same railing. |
Pretty nice how all the hardware is packaged. Even included two wrenches and touch-up paint! I didn't use these wrenches though, I used a ratcheting wrench, it would have been painful to use these little wrenches for the whole thing. |
Kim was sick and not feeling well at all, but she still came out and kept me company while I built everything. And she had the job of reading the directions, so she was the director. :) |
Some of the parts laid out. |
Rest of the parts ready to go. |
Corent frame #1 done, only three more to go! |
Kim found a new position to direct from in the sun after I finished corner #2. |
All four corners done and started putting up the arch supports on the top of the frame. |
All the arch supports are done. Time for the roof! |
A little better angle to see the completed frame. |
First part of the roof support is in place. |
The first level of the roof is all done. The 4 small post you see sticking up are for the small 2nd level roof. |
All done and looking good! Time to start on the furniture! |
It seems like a pretty good product. Pretty sturdy and replacement parts are available. I'm not expecting the roof to last more than a year, but I plan on putting a more permanent roof cover on when this one bites it. |
Inside view of the roof. The small 2nd level of the roof is there to create a large vent so you can have firepits inside.
We plan to install some 12v lighting inside as well. |
We want to order another side panel for use on the side facing the truck for some more privacy. We will also be making a panel to span the gap from the house to the gazebo. |
All finished with furniture and BBQ in place. The plan is to remove the area where the AC unit is and install a sliding patio door. |
Easy access from the kitchen door. |
As you can see, one of the railings and posts block the BBQ a bit. I plan on removing this railing and the inner post once the gazebo is secured to the ground and the house. |
 I like it a lot! |
