Edit Overview
In 2009, Kim and I started a project to clean up the front landscaping. We will be doing the following items to the front and hope to have everything done by summer 2010 at the latest...
- Remove front porch/deck
- Remove all growth in front lower bed
- Remove lawn on front/side of house and replace with paving bricks for a patio
- Lay flat stones for two walkways (one from each driveway to front door)
- Border walkways and flower garden
- Landscape flower garden
- Install gazebo and outdoor furniture
Edit Progress
- April 2009
Kim started by ripping up all the vegitation in the flower garden in the front and side of the house. She then took down the lattice work and pulled up the vine that was growing through it. We then cut off the deck and hauled everything to the dump. - June 2009
We rented a sod cutter and a rototiller and took out the lawn for the walkway and patio and then rototilled the dirt to get ready to lower and level it for some gravel and bricks. - August 2009
Not as much progress as we would like so far. But, we did take a trip to the local Home Depot and found a couple guys to come and level the dirt in the patio area. It's now ready for fine gravel and then bricks. Just need the $$$. :) - September 2009
Finished the patio and installed the Gazebo and furniture! Yahoo! - October 2009
Got a firepit for the Gazebo, it works great! Very cool to sit by the fire in the gazebo. Not a bad unit for only $80. Also bolted down the gazebo and removed one of its supports and walls so there is easy access to the BBQ from inside the gazebo.
