Overview

In early 2009, we picked up an old 1982 Suzuki GS850GL for Kim. A little big for a first bike, but then these are not power houses so its still a good size. The bike needs some work thats for sure, but is decent enough.

The Purchase

We looked for a couple of weeks on craigslist and attempted to see other simulaly sized and priced bikes, but many times they were sold before we could get a chance to see them. We found this one from some old guy that had it sitting in his storage unit a couple hours drive from our place.

So we took a drive down and after getting it to fire up enough to hear the engine run, we offered $50 less than he was asking and sealed the deal. Looking back, I'm sure I could have gotten him even lower. I'm not a very good haggler.

We loaded it on a trailer and brought it home. As of 6/2009, still working on it. Work log with details below.!
