Edit Overview
This robot never got very far. It was a toy robot I found at a store and took it apart to put all my own electronics in it. I just never really got into this one. He sat around in a box for awhile, but I eventually got rid it at a garage sale. Anyways, some photos below.

The arms were built as a single unit. They only opened and closed, like a large gripper. There was a safety clutch so the motor and gears wouldn't get damaged when it squezed too hard on something. |

The top and bottom half of his base. A simple layout with quite a bit of room. The large flat area on the bottom half you see is where several D batteries went, so plenty of room for batteries. |

This is the inside of his chest. One of the features I was looking forward to using was this motor controlled 3 shot dart cannon. It just used a simple DC motor so would be easy to control from an MCU as it only needed to be on and off in one direction. |

Inside his head is where all his electronics lived. He was radio controlled and had quite a few features I wanted to use such as his built in speaker, several LEDs in his head, small headlights, tank tracks, arms, dart cannon, etc. Interestingly enough, when I opened him, there was a programming jack. You can see it at the top of the photo (like a telephone jack). I never did find any info online to hack it though. All the chips had been sanded so you couldn't look them up either. |

All the major parts layed out. The small waist part in the middle was a motorized unit that allowed him to bend over. This in combination with his gripping arms allowed him to pick up objects off the floor. |
