EditWelcome
Hello! You've stumbled upon yet another bandwidth consuming personal site on the great WWW. A place where you can read about the interests and thoughts of someone you probably don't know! Of course, there is probably much more
interesting stuff out there if you don't find anything of interest here. :)
EditAbout Site
hossweb.com is a site I've had around for many years for me to post random information about me, my hobbies, etc. Often times a place for me to keep information online for myself, other times for family/friends to access, and yet some in case the information is useful to masses. I tend to find some of the best information about specific things on peoples personal sites.
This is v4.0 of hossweb.com. I decided to try out a wiki based web engine this time. I just don't have the time to develop a full site with all the features I wanted (at least not in the time frame I would like) so I'll give this wiki engine a try and see how it goes. I have plenty of robotics and coding projects to keep my geek skills up. This site style should allow me to make quick and easy updates so hopefully I can get back to getting content up regularly again.
EditAbout Me
Born and raised in Portland, OR, I grew up always taking things apart, often not putting them back together, just to see how they worked. I was introduced to computers in the 2nd grade when my school got a single
Texas Instruments TI-99/4A. I was hooked. My mother ended up getting me one. I graduated to an
Apple IIc and used
Macintosh SE in school. Then I got into IBM style PCs and been on Windows/Linux since. The majority of my time currently is with Windows. I code mostly in
C# and ASP.NET. I also have experience with HTML/XML, Java, Perl, PHP, SQL, PowerShell, Batch, VB, C/C++, and various variations of many of these used in micro-controllers.
In addition to computers, I'm also a mechanical person and love working on cars, welding, machining metal, etc.
Robotics is something I've been into since the mid 80's (back in 8th grade!) as I find it a great combination of mechanical, electrical, and computer/software areas.
I also ride motorcycles, have since before I had a license or car. Been in one wreck, I came out OK, but my buddy that ran into me with his bike spent a couple weeks in bed with little skin on his back and his girlfriend broke her arm. The bike I had that I liked the least was a Honda CM400 automatic, the fastest was a 2001 ZX-12R Ninja (
I made a few videos of it), my favorite is my current
2000 Honda Valkyrie Interstate.
